LVSM Garage Crawl - 29/08/09

We started the day off meeting at Repco car park in Traralgon, the day was wet and miserable.

Then cruised of to Streetwise (Ken Neilson`s) . There we had a gander at some of the cool gear

and machines that Ken is working on. Awesome rides in the making.

Advancing to Ayres Automotive (Billy Ayres workshop). There we had yarn and a bar-bee-que

Some nice memorbilia if i do say so.

Continuing on to downtown Moe, to Maeco (Brett Edwards shop).Nice little Sunbird but the motor didn`t stop growing, and looks like the HR will suffer from the same disease.

After Moe i think the weather got the better of everybody and decided to call it a day.

Thanks to Vince for the Photos and Story.

Horsepower Factory (HP-F) Voodoo Ride  Dyno Day - 27/05/09

Matt Turnbull set up an open day type visit to Horsepower Factory for the club, including dyno runs for club members for $40 each and a demo from Kent of the new Voodoo Ride car care products.

We had a great turnout with most of us driving our hotties the 2 hour drive to HPF headquarters at Dandenong.

We headed off from Traralgon at 7am picking up members at meeting points along the way cruising down in a good group of about 11 cars I think, Matt and Grievesy in the VK (must be its first real outing in the last 12mths) Sam & Peter in the Super 6 powered Ute, Mark in the Wagon, Colin in the SS, Greg and Hayden in the ESP, Dave and Craig in the XY, Jim and his Dad in the Tonnar, Andrew and Damo in the Sandman, Matho and Jim in the Rod, Bill and Flano in the Mustang, Brett and family in the V8 Cruiser, and Grievesy picked up his VP and cruised it back with us. It was great to see so many of our tough cars out together and the weather held out beautifully for us, couldn’t have asked for a better winter day for a cruise.

The dyno run was a great chance to get some of our members unproven cars on the dyno as some members had never ran a car on a dyno at all before. It was a bit of a Ford vs. Holden war as it always comes out but all fun and games between club members and I think it was enjoyed by all, some cars had a few surprises being some high and some low read outs I think some of us have some head scratching to do. If I recall I think Matt just squeezed in the biggest figure. J

The demo of the new voodoo ride car cleaning products Kent gave us was a bit of a run down of how we should and shouldn’t clean our cars and what and why we should and shouldn’t use different products, he gave us a demo of the voodoo ride gear including polish that is a great all-rounder and seems to clean just about anything, scratch remover which he used on a pretty badly scratched spare guard that looked like they had been kicking around the workshop all week and it did a very good job, then he showed us the tire shine and how to apply it, I think a few members took advantage of the special on the day package that Kent made up for us at a greatly reduced price, There was also talk of doing a bulk order if we get enough members interested and getting some at a bulk price.

We had a bbq lunch and can of drink and a bit of a chat and a few questions were asked about the Voodoo product and a few members had some demos done on their own cars.

The rest of the cars were run up on the dyno, including the Edwards family cruiser on the AWD dyno.

We thanked HPF for having us and they thanked us for coming as this was the first day like this they had put on and it was very well done.

We had a great seeing off by the boys at HPF and some headed for a well earnt can, a feed or some fuel and regrouped at the new narnargoon BP servo and cruised home.

This would have to be one of the most successful club cruises I have been on and I am happy to thank all the members that came along as we are what makes the club a success.

AND a BIG Thank you to Matt, Well done.
